Top of the mornin' to ya!
Today, the Gator Train campers traveled to the Emerald Isle.
We boarded the “train” and watched a brief movie with Miss McCool about the
variety of landscapes in Ireland. The campers were excited to discover that there
are oceans, lakes, rivers, mountains, farms, castles, and cities in this
beautiful country. Afterwards, we decorated our brown bag suitcases which we
will fill with souvenirs from the week. The campers took a break from the heat
with Ms. Strange in the Multipurpose room. They played the “Tricky Leprechaun
Game” and each camper took a turn dressing up in an item and having the rest of
the group guess what was different about them. We ended our first day in
Ireland by reading the story, “Hooray for St. Patrick’s Day!” by Joan Holub and
making tissue paper shamrock window decorations.
