Our field trip to the Children’s Museum began with playtime
in the “Bridges to our Community” exhibit where the children explored a grocery
store, doctor’s office, hospital, and many other exciting areas of a community.
We splashed around in the water tables and climbed through the water cycle in
the “Splish! Splash!” exhibit and made a stop in the “Centuries of Childhood”
exhibit. After taking a break for snack, our instructor, Ms. Kelsey, introduced
us to the painter, Nathaniel Hone and showed us some of his famous landscape
paintings. She showed us how to paint a horizon and then the children had a
turn to paint on their very own canvas. We concluded our trip with a yummy
lunch outside and then boarded the bus to return to Lyman Circle.
