French and Spanish
campers once again headed to Butler campus. French campers learned about the
traditional game, "Jeu de la Casserole" where they practiced
directing each other by yelling, "Chaud!" or, "Froid!" and
went on a scavenger hunt. Spanish campers explored the creek, finding crayfish
and answering questions in Spanish.
Once back at Lyman
Circle, French campers learned how to make a traditional French vinaigrette and
then crafted their own Salade Niçoise. During art, they painted French flags
and made lavender sachets inspired by the lavender fields of Provence.
Our Spanish campers made
Molas, artwork inspired by the Kuna tribe of Colombia. They also listened to a
read aloud of "Sofia's Adventures," where they formed different yoga
poses to correspond with words or actions in the book. It was another
fun-filled day for all!
