In language camp this week, Spanish campers headed to Barcelona.
Today they explored the architectural works of Antonio Gaudi, through
interactive virtual visits to the Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell. Spanish
campers feasted on pan tomaquet (bread with olive oil, garlic, and tomato
rubbed on it). In the afternoon, they created Gaudi-inspired mosaics.
In French camp, sights were set on the former French colony of
Vietnam. Campers examined the similarities and differences between schools in
Vietnam and the U.S. We packed our suitcases in the morning for the warm and
humid climate, then discovered how to make Vietnamese Spring Rolls using rice
paper, rice noodles, and typical herbs. In the afternoon, campers fashioned
Vietnamese-inspired lanterns.
Tomorrow, we are heading to Butler, so please remember to bring
appropriate footwear!
