Antarctica Day 3

It was another busy day at Gator Train! We began the morning by playing tennis with Mrs. Buchinsky in the multi-purpose room as part of our weekly, “Little Racquets” program. During our craft time, we warmed up our bodies by dancing to the “Freeze.” We learned about rulers and how various measuring tools are used to measure the snow and ice levels in Antarctica. Then, we created our own penguin rulers. At the end of the day, we did water relay races outside and then cooled off in the library by listening to the story, “ The Emperor’s Egg” by Martin Jenkins.

The children are very excited about our field trip tomorrow to Thornton Park for our ice skating lesson! As a reminder, campers should wear the green “Summer at Laurel” shirt, and bring a bicycle helmet, as well as a pair of gloves to camp.
